A Guide to London’s Taco Scene

Today is National Taco Day. In other words, the best day of the year. Can you tell I love them? I didn’t always though. Believe it or not, I was a picky eater in my childhood. My order at Taco Bell was a tortilla with cheese. Needless to say, I was a disappointment to my Hispanic family.

One day my world changed when I discovered I like tacos. How did I come to this discovery? I actually tried a taco! What a crazy concept that you might like something if you give it a try. My love for tacos has only grown stronger over the years (and my family loves me again).

In celebration of this glorious day, I put together a guide to London’s taco scene. Let’s just say I’ve been around the block.

Los Lobos

It’s Tuesday night. You’ve been in class all day and you’re hungry. You don’t have homework, or you can afford to put it off for another night. Go to Los Lobos, where not only can you celebrate Taco Tuesday, but Tequila Tuesday as well. Choose from their menu of a dozen types of tacos while splitting a pitcher of margaritas with friends. Their artsy décor and lively atmosphere will draw you in, but the food will make you stay.

Dos Tacos

You’re drowning in homework and already have midterms even though you’ve only been in school for what feels like two seconds. You don’t have time to take a bathroom break, let alone cook dinner. Swing by Dos Tacos for some quick and tasty tacos. Better yet, order them right to your door on Uber Eats (Use code eats-savannahh2603ue for $5 off your first two orders). They’re also open until 3:00A.M. on Fridays and Saturdays, making for the perfect post-bar munchies.

Los Comales

You don’t know how you made it through the week, but you did. It’s finally the weekend and you have some downtime. By “some” I mean you have a couple hours to enjoy before you spend the rest of your day studying. Venture over to Los Comales for some authentic latin food. Pineapples on pizza? No. Pineapples on tacos? Yes. Their mouth-watering tacos al pastor are topped with chunks of pineapple that will send your taste buds into overdrive.

Casa Cancun

Similar to Los Comales, Casa Cancun serves authentic tacos. Plus, they do 50% off tacos on Tuesdays, which matters when you find out it’s only October and you’ve ran out of OSAP for the semester. Not down to leave your house? Order through Skip the Dishes.
